Second Quarter Satch Grants for 2015 winners announced!

Inspiration Schoolhouse Awarded $500

When Erica Marsh isn't teaching at William's Elementary she is giving back to children in Liberia. Inspiration Schoolhouse is her vision for a school and library to educate Liberian children. Her "Go Fund Me" project is collecting funds to renovate a building which will house books she has collected to ship to Liberia. Erica is donating a year of her time, skill and effort to help hire teachers and get the school up and running. What an inspiration!




Institute for Workforce Innovation (Youth Build)  Awarded $500

The mission of Institute for Workforce Innovation - Project Youth Build is to improve the quality of life in the community through education, employment and advocacy. Since 2009 Project Youth Build has been a life changing program for youth (16-24 yrs) who lack a high school diploma or GED. PYB helps students attain a diploma, learn a trade, go to school, get a job, give back to the community and be successful in life. 



Peaceful Paths  Awarded $500

A local non-profit, Peaceful Paths promotes relationships free of violence and control by providing a safe place to receive intervention, advocacy and education. Each year Peaceful Paths holds a Back to School Kick Off event during which each child in attendance receives a backpack filled with necessary supplies to start the school year. This Satch Grant will help Peaceful Paths buy over 100 shirts students need to comply with the dress code in Alachua County.
