SATCH CARES GRANTS 2023
RUFC AWARDS first half of 2023
Satchel's awarded more than $15,000 in the first half of 2023 to several of our community nonprofits, schools and organizations. A big portion came from YOU, our beautiful customers who Round Up For Charity when paying their tabs at Satchel's.

RUFC January and February $3080 was awarded to UF's design and build studio class who worked with Rawling's Elementary students and teachers to build a series of unique and functional projects on the elementary school campus
RUFC March and April $3446 was raised for Florida Springs Institute Whose goal is to document Florida's springs and educate the public about the threats that face them in order to ensure future generations can enjoy them as we have.
RUFC May and June $2890 went to the Partnership for Strong Families PSF is the lead community-based care agency for FLorida Judicial Circuits 3 and 8. PSF delivers compre- hensive child welfare services to children who are victims of abuse and neglect. PSF also works with at-risk failies to prevent child abuse and to decrease the risk of children entering the out-of-home care system.
SATCH CARES Q1 2023 was awarded to two local organizations.
$500 to Current Problems CP is the only freshwater debris removal specialized nonprofi in the Southeast and has focused its efforts on projects taht most impact the health of habitat and water quality. CP engages volunteers in active springshed conservation and has been awarded through the years for its direct approach to water quality presrevation, Aquifer restoration, and ability to eliminate the cost of harmful debris removal for communities most impacted.
$1500 to Pace Center for Girls The majority of this funding when towards purchase of long term enrichment materials for the center. This includes musical instruments, yoga mats and a Tibetan bowl for yoga sessions. Also, enrichment trips for the girls such as a trip to visit old St Augustine and learn about Florida history and a day of learning pottery at Studio TM.
SATCH CARES Q2 2023 was awarded to three community partners
$2500 to Bread of the Mighty Food Bank BMFB provides food, hope and encouragement to the hungry and food insecure. Food insecurity affects an average of nearly 16% of the population of North Central Florida, or 50,000 people each day, including children, seniors, families, veterans, students and other individuals who do not know where there next meal will come from. This grant will help BMFB with their mobile panrtry pop-up events to distibute a truck load of food in targeted areas of high need.
$1000 to ElderCare of Alachua County ElderCare is an advocate for the elderly and provides services that will build capacity, maximize independence and enrich the quality of life for the seniors of Alachua County. There funds will assist in the Senior Nutrition Program, ensuring that older adults have access to nutritious meals and nutritional education, promoting their overall health and enabling them to age comfortably in their own homes.
Satchel's catered a pizza and salad lunch for 50!! at the popular summer camp We Rock Gainesville This week-long camp is open to girls and gender-expansive youth ages 10-17. They focus on teaching self-esteem, confidence, communication and creativity through music education. Each camper is grouped in a band, rehearses through the week, then performs on a local live stage for their peers and families.
